Dave graduated from a 4- year master’s program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA where he studied and apprenticed with some of the top practitioners in his field. After school Dave completed an intensive 2 year postgraduate program for sports medicine acupuncture. The most advanced orthopedic and sports acupuncture training certification program available. This extensive training program taught Dave advanced anatomy with the use of cadavers throughout, evaluation methods for orthopedic disorders, postural analysis and corrective exercise application. Sports Medicine acupuncture training provides therapeutic methods utilizing modern sports medicine therapy in conjunction with traditional Chinese acupuncture techniques.

Dave was first introduced to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine while studying at a Shaolin Kung-Fu School. During a talk one day, the school master told a story of a famous general who injured his arm in battle and how the physician used acupuncture as the anesthetic while performing surgery on the general’s arm. It was upon hearing this that Dave knew instantly that he wanted to pursue this medicine as his life’s passion.

During acupuncture schooling, Dave had an injury to both knees from running the Sandia Crest Rim Trail (26.4 miles) that left both knees locked in pain. He sought acupuncture treatment at his school’s clinic. After the first session he walked out with 90% of his pain gone and the ability to bend and move his knees again. This treatment was another confirmation to Dave that pursuing a career in oriental medicine and acupuncture was right for him.

Dave’s expertise is beneficially diverse. He is an acupuncturist, herbalist, sports medicine acupuncturist, holistic health practitioner and Dynamic Contraction Technique practitioner. Dave strives to focus his knowledge and energy towards making your treatments unique and tailored to you in order to assist you in obtaining vibrant health.

Dynamic Contraction Technique is a system of Bodywork that incorporates elements of western biomechanics and eastern holistic modalities allowing for an increase in strength, flexibility, movement and alignment of the body.

He believes that true vitality is found in the delicate balance of the intricate integration and interconnectedness of the mind, body, spirit and energy of one’s being.
